Heath Balch is a native of Newport, TN. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 2002 from Carson-Newman College and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Dentistry, Memphis, in 2006.
After dental school he practiced general dentistry in Cookeville, TN for three years. During that time he saw that several patients needed complex comprehensive care. He made the decision to return to a full-time three year Advanced Prosthodontic residency program in 2009. His time in residency focused on implant, esthetic and reconstructive dentistry with a focus on guided implant surgery and restorations. His thesis focused on mandibular movement and evaluated the accuracy of two electronic mandibular recording devices. He recently received his certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics and Master of Dental Science from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2012. He practiced as an associate in a Prosthodontic practice in Knoxville, TN for one year before moving to Brentwood, TN.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry as well as a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, the Nashville Dental Society, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society and the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics. He is also a member of the International Academy of Gnathology.
Dr. Balch and his wife, Dana, have one daughter.
